I’m writing my goodbye on release day. Don’t worry, I’ll be back.
I have been straddling two worlds for some years now, not advancing in my engineering career (that pays the bills) to do what I love, which is writing. But I didn’t make the cut. It’s nothing to be sad over, or disappointed in, it’s just one of those things.
With the release of Sacred Bones I made myself a deal. If I didn’t receive a modicum of success I would take a six month break and study for my PE exam, professional engineer’s exam, so that I can become licensed in the state of Maryland.
Sacred Bones released, I didn't even crack a hundred copies. This isn’t a modicum of success. So I say goodbye for a little while. But don’t worry, I’ll be back, as a professionally licensed engineer (hopefully) with a whole lot more story to tell.
I have one or two commitments left for this year, but after that, my releases will slow down. Don’t worry I’ll still be around to chat it up with, but writing will just be taking a back seat.
I’m sorry, but this is the way it has to be for now. (unless I hit big and then can say fuck being an engineer LOL)
Tootles for now,
